Where: Madagascar (13.2° S, 49.1° E: paleocoordinates 44.3° S, 41.7° E)

When: Early/Lower Triassic (252.3 - 247.2 Ma)

Environment/lithology: marine; siliciclastic sediments

• 1. Silicatic nodules rich in iron oxyde of marly shales alternated to sandstones

•2. The fossiliferous outcrops extends into a region that is covered by an open secondary forest, that is often interupted by vegtated clearings with a lateritic soil
