Where: Bechar region, Algeria (30.0° N, 4.0° W: paleocoordinates 24.4° N, 6.5° W)

When: middle Member (Glib Zegdou Formation), Ypresian to Ypresian (55.8 - 40.4 Ma)

• 1 meter below HGL51; late Early or early Middle Eocene

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; lenticular sandstone

• Il renferme un horizon lenticulaire de grès jaune à rouge, à boules d’argile, très riche en charophytes. [yellow to red lenticular sandstone with clay balls, rich in charophytes]

Size classes: macrofossils, microfossils

Collected in 2003 onwards
