Type specimen: KNM 24319/24320, a partial skeleton (partial, disarticulated and partially articulated skeleton including mandible, scapula, vertebrae, ribs, and front and hind limb elements). Its type locality is R114 Proconsul site, which is in a Burdigalian floodplain siltstone in the Hiwegi Formation of Kenya.
