Type specimen: UF ⁄ IGM 34, a partial skeleton (mostly complete mandible, four maxillary fragments, and two partial ribs). Its type locality is La Puente Pit, claystone layer underlying Coal Seam 85 (Cerrejón Coal Mine), which is in a Paleocene/Paleocene terrestrial claystone/coal in the Cerrejón Formation of Colombia.
