Type specimen: JME SOS 4934a/b, a partial skeleton (It is an almost complete specimen missing the distal tips of the paired fins and anal fin rays (Figs 4A, B). The intestine is partially preserved as well as the). Its type locality is Bavarichthys incognitus-type locality, which is in a Tithonian shallow subtidal dolomite/marl in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.
