Type specimen: UMNH VP 20211, a partial skeleton (cervical, dorsal, and caudal vertebrae; and the proximal end of a left pubis). Its type locality is Doelling's Bowl Bonebed (USGS), which is in a Barremian terrestrial chert in the Cedar Mountain Formation of Utah.
