Type specimen: MUSM 1396, a skull (well-preserved skull with the ven- tral-most portion of the basicranium worn along an horizontal plane (basioccipital crests, ventral part of exoccipitals, and ). Its type locality is Ullujaya, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in the Chilcatay Formation of Peru.

Ecology: scansorial insectivore
