Type specimens:
- Eomoropus quadridentatus: Its type locality is Lok7, Shang-Ho, Jen-Tsun, Mien-Chih-Hsien, Yuanqu basin, which is in an Eocene terrestrial marl in the Hedi Formation of China.
- Eomoropus zhanggouensis: GV86083, a tooth (Left M1). Its type locality is 500 m east of Zhanggou Village, which is in an Eocene terrestrial sandstone/mudstone in the Yuhuangding Formation of China.
