Type specimen: SAM P24927, a partial skeleton (partial cranium, atlas, 2 thoracic vertebres, 1 lumbar vertebra, 1 sacaral vertebra, left scapula, right scapula fragment, ribs). Its type locality is Lake Pinpa, which is in an Oligocene/Miocene lacustrine claystone in the Namba Formation of Australia.
