Also known as M197
Where: Tsevie, Togo (6.3° N, 1.1° E: paleocoordinates 1.1° S, 5.4° W)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Glauconitic biomicrite Member (Tabligbo Limestone Formation), Late/Upper Paleocene (58.7 - 55.8 Ma)
• Overlies 4 m thick Tabligbo Sands (Maastrichtian). The Tabligbo Limestone is composed of three members; the basal Togocyamus Limestone member (4 m thick) with ostracods with affinities to the Nigerian "Ewekoro Formation" and biozone P3; the middle Compact Slab member (2 m thick); and the upper Glauconitic biomicrite (0.5 m) with microfaunas of the biozne P4 but lower Eocene nautiloids, but is regarded as latest Paleocene. All within the Tabligbo Group (Maastrichtian-lower Eocene), which overlies the Dahomeyan basement, and underlies the lower-middle Eocene Phosphate of the ahotoe-Kpogame Group.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: open shallow subtidal; glauconitic, shelly/skeletal limestone
Size classes: macrofossils, microfossils
Collection methods: No respositories mentioned.
