Environment/lithology: transition zone or lower shoreface; lithified sandstone

• The Nama Group is mainly of molassic aspect and related to stripping of parts of the neighboring Damara Orogen during uplift.
• Majority occur in clean, white quartzite composed of fine to medium, subangular to subrounded quartz sand with 5% -10% feldspar. Several specimens are preserved in impure (silty), medium-grained, arkosic sandstone containing 5%-15% feldspar and commonly including small flakes of muscovite.
