Type specimens:

  • Mycterosaurus longiceps: FMNH UC 692, a partial skeleton (skull and few postcrania). Its type locality is Mitchell Creek, 29 (Waggoner Ranch Formation), which is in an Artinskian/Kungurian terrestrial limestone/shale in the Waggoner Ranch Formation of Texas.
  • Basicranodon fortsillensis: USNM 21859, a partial skull (most of the parasphenoid-basisphenoid complex). Its type locality is Richards Spur, which is in a Leonard fissure fill claystone/conglomerate in the Garber Formation of Oklahoma.
  • Eumatthevia bolli: AMNH Cope Coll. 7002, a partial skeleton (partial skull, the greater part of both scapule, partial anterior limbs, a small part of the pelvis, much of one hind-limb, probably most of the vertebra). Its type locality is "Copper Shept", which is in an Artinskian/Kungurian terrestrial horizon in Texas.
