Type specimen: MEF 1363, a partial skeleton (associated partial skeleton wing and leg bones and a few fragments of the skull). Its type locality is Punta Buenos Aires, which is in a Miocene coastal mudstone/limestone in the San Madryn Formation of Argentina.
