Type specimen: FHSM VP-2295, a partial skeleton (A complete, articulated skull and seven cervical vertebrae). Its type locality is FHSM VP-2295 locality, Ellis County, which is in a Coniacian marine chalk in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas.
