Type specimen: MPCA 865, a partial skull (posterior half of skull in articulation with the lower jaws). Its type locality is east shore, Ezequiel Ramos Mexa Reservoir, which is in a Cenomanian fluvial sandstone/mudstone in the Candeleros Formation of Argentina.
