Type specimen: DMNH 56658, an other (partial skull with lower jaw and disarticulated postcrania). Its type locality is Main Elk Creek, which is in a Norian/Rhaetian floodplain siltstone in the Chinle Formation of Colorado.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore
