Type specimen: QM F18101, a skeleton (a near-complete ankylosaurian dinosaur specimen that includes most of the skull and mandible, along with an articulated postcranium). Its type locality is Marathon Station, Flinders River (QM), which is in an Albian basinal (carbonate) lime mudstone in the Toolebuc Formation of Australia.
