Sister taxa: Triceratops horridus, Triceratops prorsus, Triceratops sulcatus, Triceratops utahensis, Tatankaceratops sacrisonorum

Type specimen: SMP VP-1865, a partial skull (left squamosal). Its type locality is SMP Loc. 410b, Willow Wash, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Ojo Alamo Formation of New Mexico.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
