Sister taxon: Acheloma dunni

Type specimens:

  • Acheloma cumminsi: AMNH 4205, a partial skeleton (skull, presacral vertebrae with ribs, scapulacoracoids, and humeri)
  • Trematops milleri: FMNH UC 640, a partial skeleton (skull and postcrania). Its type locality is Craddock Bonebed, Brush Creek, 38 (Arroyo Formation), which is in a Kungurian terrestrial claystone/sandstone in the Arroyo Formation of Texas.
