Where: France (44.3° N, 3.3° E: paleocoordinates 32.9° N, 14.7° E)

• coordinate based on political unit

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Toarcian (183.0 - 175.6 Ma)

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: open shallow subtidal; lithified marl

• Mid to lower shelf settings. Dark-gray fine-grained sediment point to high rates of sedimentation, high turbidity, intermittently lowered oygen values and soft to soupy substrate conditions.
• Argillaceous-marly sediments. Fossils were collected from marls.
