Type specimens:

  • Neuquensaurus australis: MLP Ly 1-6 (= MLP 77-V-28-1), a set of postcrania. Its type locality is Sierra Roca, Río Neuquen, which is in a Santonian terrestrial sandstone in the Bajo de la Carpa Formation of Argentina.
  • Loricosaurus scutatus: MLP.Cs.1210, 1213-1215, 1218-1221, 1226, 1228-1232, 1235, 1237, 1470-1477, 2006, 2010, an osteoderm. Its type locality is canal, Cinco Saltos, which is in a Campanian/Campanian fluvial sandstone in the Anacleto Formation of Argentina.
