Type specimen: CM zfa35, a partial skeleton (associated part skeleton with right tibiotarsus, proximal fibula, tarsometatarsus, and pelvis with synsacrum and four caudal vertebrae). Its type locality is Waipara River M34/f453, which is in a Selandian coastal horizon in the Waipara Greensand Formation of New Zealand.
